Can it really be December?

My oh my where did the time go?

This year has been one filled with milestones, new friendships, travel and growth. One of the things that gets me through a packed schedule is having "downtime" listening to music, burning candles and writing in my journal.

I am cleaning up my room this evening but had time to go shopping today to find some good smelling candles!  I have burnt through a few of them this year. Do you know how expensive candles can be? You would know, the ones whose fragrance I love the most are guess what??? the most expensive.

I have learned over the years ,soon after my candle passion first hit me, to scour the clearance shelves at TJ, Bath&Body Works, VS and various other establishments that put some really good smelling candles on mark down at the end of each season. I won't bore you with my favs, but, I lean towards the woodsy, vanilla, leather smell....I throw in an occasional lavender - grass based candle for calmness..

If you know anything about me besides my music, you know I love adventure. During my travels throughout the year (when I'm not working ) guess where you can find me! . Immersing myself in local side street boutiques, Saturday markets, Cultural festivals, Urban-contemporary shopping districts and a few "chain" stores.  I am a sucker for a good smelling candle. One downside is candles are heavy!! there are only so many that will fit in your carry on bag.  Just for the record I am an expert packer and almost always fly with a tote ( personal item ) and a well packed carry on. I mean who wants to check a bag ( 25-30 fee) when you can bring home an artisan candle or maybe two!!!

As it is, I am packing for a week long trip to LA. This is a business trip for my music. The schedule is jammed, but believe you me I am trying to figure a way to slip away for a few hours. I have left room in my carry on for a candle or two.

What's your go to fragrance for candles?

Any great tips on seeking out artisan offerings?  feel free to leave comments and links.
